People of Lisbon is a video portrait series. It makes videos and photos about people living in Lisbon. Like me.

Here’s how mine came about… FAST!

And in less than one week, episode #69 of People of Lisbon was published!

The filmmakers capture the light of their subjects — a mix of ex pats and locals from all walks of life — in an authentic, engaging and entertaining fashion.

What a thrill to be among the distinguished members of the People of Lisbon. I feel blessed to be among its portraits. And to live among all the People of Lisbon who cast their light throughout this magical city!

The Makers

“It’s quite tricky to find people from Lisbon, in Lisbon,” says Stephen O’Regan.

This project showcases foreigners as much as locals and offers up a diversity of characters that inhabit the Lisbon streets.

The series brings positivity and excitement into the community, but it is a labor of love. As Stephen puts it: “If you just stick with something, then stuff happens. Sometimes it’s difficult and you ask yourself, ‘Why am I doing this?’ But then positive things happen, and it gives you confidence.”

In the video below, the makers turn the camera on themselves to describe People of Lisbon'’s genesis and their complementary creative approach.
