Proud Mary
Energies are always flowing. Like a river. Like a stream. The Universe and its quantum waves of potentiality flow. Therefore, “success” and its component and resultant energies also flow like a current.
Success is essentially our perceptual confirmation of circumstances that reflect our desired outcome. And those circumstances, in the form of people, places, actions, experiences, feelings, matter… are all a perceptual manifestation of this energetic current.
How can success be natural?
When we are feeling natural about our success, when we are doing our thing in a natural, easy, relaxed, comfortable way, success flows to us. Like an athlete at the top of her game. A speaker at the height of his eloquence. A leader at the peak of her powers. An artist painting at their creative apex. A musician playing at the height of their ability. A craftsman working at the pinnacle of their skill.
When time dissolves. When we feel we are doing our best. Then all of our learning, preparation and talent applied in a focused and concentrated way yields maximum potency, maximum efficacy, and returns to us as perceptual confirmation of our prowess.
A peak state of skill in action results in a natural flow that delivers natural success.
When this happens it’s as if an outcome of success is a forgone conclusion. For how can it not be? The very act of performing is reward in and of itself. It harnesses the flow of energy and attention that delivers positive feedback through the very act of doing.
Case in Point
Whilst shooting and editing the video above. Whilst writing this very piece. I experienced time as elastic. I wasn’t hungry or thirsty, tired or enervated. I felt energized and abundant. In a vibrant flow. With a sense of ease and grace. Happy accidents occured in the edit. Synchronistic ideas dropped into my mind at the right moment. You couldn’t pull me away from my work.
I feel misty with success already. It was a pleasure to create. Will it also be received or perceived as successful? I hope it might, but that will be the icing on the cake.
And the winner is…
So when they hand you the trophy, honor you with the medal, put you on the Dean’s List, award you the account, wire over your bonus, hang your achievement plaque on the wall, bestow the top prize upon you… the success you sought will have come naturally.
And why shouldn’t it? You performed naturally. You felt natural whilst doing whatever it is you do. There were witnesses: the audience, the jury or judge, the client or colleague, the opponent or rival, the boss or teacher. All could see, feel, read, hear and experience your natural gifts. You were in your element. You were—and are—a natural. So how could the result be anything other than success? Natural success? Begotten… naturally.

Natural Model
This “natural” model of success, then, is one in which we do what is needed, what is required to prepare the way for the success we seek: emulating, practicing, acting, embodying, trusting the Universe, exercising faith. Applying conscious action, focus and intrepid effort that feels somehow effortless. Acting naturally within our talented flow to orient and align ourselves with the cascade of fluid success rushing to meet us.
Our success manifestation already exists as a wave of potentiality, a particle of probability, a currency of consciousness. And our flow state is how we move to meet it.
It puts us on the path to the splash.
Like stepping into the stream of the Super Soaker wielded by middle schoolers at the community pool. Or dancing through the sprinkler on our grandparent’s front lawn. Or dousing ourselves in the spray of the fire hydrant opened to cool the city streets. Or venturing towards a Kenyan cataract (👇🏼) that counteracts the jungle’s equatorial heat.
Success can come like a torrent. Our part is to navigate the path step-by-natural-step to find ourselves in the flow its current so that…
SPLISH-SPLASH!
We’re bound to get wet. Soaking wet. With success.
